In August 2009 the UNESCO declared the Dolomites as world natural heritage, which means those mountains has to be protected. The most important reason for the affiliation in the protection list is the uniqueness of the awesome shapes and colours of every singular top. Due to the carbonate rock, first described by famous french mineralogist Déodat Gratet de Dolomieu, today we can admire spectacular mountains which enchant the visitors of those valleys.
